New Beginnings?

Some of you may be aware, but I figured I'd post here anyway to inform those that aren't.

Star Wars : The Old Republic has been put up for Pre-Order on various sites (Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Amazon etc.). I was looking on The Old Republic pre-order webpage when I found the following in fine print at the bottom of the page.

*PRE-ORDER OFFER EXPIRES WHEN PRODUCT RELEASES. CODE EXPIRES DECEMBER 31, 2012. GOOD ONLY FOR NEW PURCHASES OF "STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC" ("PRODUCT"). VALID ONLY AT PARTICIPATING RETAILERS. CODE WILL BE EMAILED WITH CONFIRMATION OF OFFER AND MAY NOT BE SUBSTITUTED, EXCHANGED, TRADED, SOLD OR REDEEMED FOR CASH OR OTHER GOODS OR SERVICES.

From what I can ascertain from this is that it will be available for Pre-Order up until December 31st 2012, after which the code is invalid. This basically tells us that The Old Republic will be released sometime within the next year and a half.

Is anyone else excited that this game is (semi) dated?

It has also been semi-dated in other aspects. Many sources, along with my own personal pre-order, state that the game is shooting for Holiday of this year. Also among the information was that beta's should be up an going in the fall.

So... I think they made a typo, because they have confirmed multiple times they will release in 2011.

As excited as I am about this, I am a little annoyed that they are selling pre release keys without a release date, seems rushed.

Probably because WE'VE BEEN WAITING 4 YEARS FOR A DATE.

However, I assume if they are talking beta we can assume that it will actually happen.

Seriously for a while I was starting to think TOR was some kind of E3 April fools.

I only opt'd for the regular version. While the collector ones seemed nice, at this point I just wanna play the damn game lol. Plus I am sure they will be like other MMO's with a digital store for more purchases of stuff I can get once it hit shelves.
