Lol for being gullible. This isn't going to be JKA 4. Probably nowhere near it. This man is taking HIS visions for JKA 4 and making a mod for JKA 3. Just give LucasArts some time. I'm sure of SW:ToR drops and does well they will revisit the JK series. Patience is a virtue after all.

actually if it's listed as freeware i am not sure there would be anything legally that lucas arts could do, other than buy out the owner of the freeware and then make it retail.

And if enough ppls download and talk about how they like it, I suspect Lucas Arts will be thinking the same thing "o_0 someone made the game so we didn't have to, and we can buy them out and make moneys off it, lets do it!!!" LoL

The engine will probably be a variant of the JKA engine. And more often than not, it will be so buggy it will ruin the experience. I understand an entire division dedicated to working out the issues but, what can ONE PERSON do with an engine that's buggy as hell and no division to handle it? You'll need people to check the bug reports, walk through them multiple times, find the error in the coding, fix it, regress and test again, repeat for any other issues. One person would take FOREVER to do this correctly for a good (not great) final product. And then there's the process of either applying the changes by patch or directory modification/file replacement. Unless this guy is Mr. Moneybags and can afford to hire teams of COMPETENT people who know what they're doing, then this game will fall flat on it's face. My guess is he isn't Mr. Moneybags and hasn't thought all of this through. End result = JK4 failing and raising everyone's expectations for the actual game (assuming Lucasarts revisits)
