It is available for pre-order, it has a release date, and it has a guild option with out names on it. If you have missed any steps so far, you're doing it wrong.
Basically I was wondering if we are going to do what we said, and make a branch/leap into TOR with SoE, and if we should get to reserving the guild name and such (inspired by Lotus's post in Member's section).
Seeing as I spend quite a bit of time infront of a computer, I could play around with the site and set it up, or if dat Kow has the time he can, whatev's. Regardless, we should tote's all play TOR if ya can/have interest in the game.

I'm curious as to how the guild name will work for the respective sides. It's a shame you can't have a "Master" guild and just separate it's members from Republic and Imperial.

This is true, however I would think you could have the same guild name on the two different sides. If not, go the simple route. One side gets the name with spaces and one doesn't.
Decision made in the oldest of traditions... Coin Toss.

Also, will our current Ranking in JKA affect what we play? I'm thinking of switching sides because while the Bounty Hunter looks tempting the Smuggler looks promising.

I don't see why you can't play on both sides, seeing as I am sure many of us would like to (Yes the GMJ likes the prospects of some Sith/Imperial Classes). I would think maybe shoot for your 1st/Main toon to be on whichever side you are on now, and then alt's a blazing on either side. We shall know more once the game is actually in our hands though.

Did you guys get selected for one of the November Beta Testing weekends? My girl and I got accepted into this weekend and next, so it's going to be interesting to see what TOR is like.

I received an invite. They said anyone who had signed up for testing before the 11'th (yesterday) would receive an invite. They are wanting to stress test the servers before launch like a good game company, so what better way than invite all the people who wanna play? xD

I've been playing it a bit today. It's still a beta so some of the texture loading is slow. Besides that, everything is great. I've played Bounty Hunter and Jedi Knight so far and I really like the dialogue system. It feels like I'm actually playing a video game instead of just picking up quests to experience grind.

Did they actually email you a code and prompt and stuff? My email just said that I have been picked to do it, but have no way of gettin to it. Or am I just noob?

Yeah they send out e-mails ahead of time letting you know you'll get to test it. When you're actually picked for a weekend your testing signing up page will change from "Update Account Information" to "Download Client" and then you DL the client and install the game. it's about 20 GB and has some patches, so it'll take a bit. It's so worth it though. I'd check on Thursdays or early Fridays because I think they give people extra time to download it and all.
